Ere Journals • Re: Diy Trauma Therapy
Maybe this is me just talking my book, but is it possible that the loneliness you feel today is actually dissociated loneliness from childhood which is projecting itself into the present via your subconscious?
To test if this is true, ask yourself -- Does the loneliness you feel "feel" like an adult's loneliness? Or a child's loneliness? What age does the loneliness feel like it's from?
Childhood emotions feel like a needful high pitched yearning. They feel "wet" to me. Adult emotions, while they can be strong, always feel "dry".
If indeed you are dealing with a child's loneliness, ask yourself -- Loneliness from who? What needs did you have at that age which went unmet? Who did you expect to help you meet those needs?
While it is important to filter out unskilled people, or people with bad personality matches, I find that adult relationships can be very rewarding even when nothing particularly deep was discussed at all. When two people "get it", you don't need to discuss the deepest things about life together. Because you both already know.
If your problems are truly handled, you might not find yourself wanting to talk about deep things with people anymore. Not that deep things are bad, but you just will have more interesting and rewarding things to discuss.
