Spider-man Producer Who Told Tom Holland & Zendaya Not To Date Reacts To Couple’s Marriage

A Spider-Man producer once warned Tom Holland and Zendaya against starting a relationship. However, after choosing to follow their hearts rather than her advice, the two leads are now married. Surprisingly, they are not the first co-stars to disregard her suggestion.

In a recent interview with Variety, Amy Pascal recalled advising Holland and Zendaya not to date. She stated, “I say this to all of them, and nobody ever listens to me.”

Addressing their recent nuptials, the Spider-Man: No Way Home producer admitted she didn’t see the marriage coming, though she fondly added, “I think they’re pretty happy together.”

Holland and Zendaya met on the set of Homecoming in 2016, which was produced by the former Sony executive. During that time, the two stars were friends; however, they officially confirmed their relationship on Instagram in 2021. By 2025, they were engaged, and earlier this year, they tied the knot in a private ceremony.

The two are not the first couple who took their on-screen chemistry off-screen. With every Spider-Man lead having dated their on-screen love interest, fans are calling this relationship “third time’s the charm.”

Tom Holland and Zendaya weren’t the first stars to ignore the producer’s dating advice

Last year, the former Sony executive spoke about this in an interview with The New York Times, as per E! News. She mentioned, “I took Tom and Zendaya aside, separately, when we first cast them and gave them a lecture. Don’t go there—just don’t. Try not to.”

But these words came from experience, as she added, “I gave the same advice to Andrew [Garfield] and Emma [Stone]. It can just complicate things, you know?”

The Amazing Spider-Man co-stars started dating in 2011 and ended their relationship in October 2015. That said, the two still remain good friends to date.

Previously, the original wall-crawler, Tobey Maguire, dated his on-screen partner, Kirsten Dunst. However, their relationship was shorter, lasting only a year, and they are on good terms as well.

Holland and Zendaya are now widely dubbed the most successful co-stars when it comes to their relationship and on-screen chemistry. Their upcoming movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, will release worldwide on July 31, 2026.
