In Stock - #### What is it? The 60GHz mmWave Fall Detection Radar is a privacy-first, camera-free smart sensor that monitors human activity in real time using advanced millimeter-wave technology. It detects falls, human presence, motion intensity, and stationary dwell events — all without capturing any images or video. Communication is via WiFi MQTT using a clean, documented JSON protocol, making integration with Home Assistant, Node-RED, openHAB, and custom IoT platforms effortless. Designed for ceiling mounting (220–280 cm) or wall mounting (180–240 cm) with adjustable angle (0° or 45°), a single unit covers typical rooms, bathrooms, and bedrooms. The radar penetrates darkness, steam, and smoke — it works day and night, through shower curtains and in complete darkness, where cameras and PIR sensors fail. Every piece of data is transmitted as structured JSON over standard MQTT. There is no cloud dependency, no vendor lock-in, and no subscription fee. You own your data and your infrastructure. #### Why did you make it? Fall accidents are the leading cause of injury-related deaths among seniors. Every year, millions of elderly people experience falls at home — and the critical factor in survival is response time. Yet most solutions fall short: - Cameras invade privacy and are resisted in private spaces like bathrooms - Wearable panic buttons only work if the person is conscious and remembers to put them on - Passive infrared (PIR) sensors cannot detect a motionless person on the floor after a fall - Proprietary alarm systems lock you into expensive ecosystems with monthly fees We built this radar to solve all of these problems at once. It provides 24/7 fall and presence monitoring that respects dignity — no cameras, no wearables, no compliance headaches — while delivering reliable, real-time alerts that integrate directly into your existing smart home or care monitoring system. Whether you are caring for aging parents, running an assisted living facility, or building a commercial elder care product, this sensor gives you the data you need without compromising on privacy. #### What makes it special? True Privacy by Design 60GHz mmWave technology detects macro-level human posture and movement. It can tell whether a person is standing, sitting, lying down, or has fallen — but it cannot form an image and nothing visually identifiable ever leaves the device. GDPR-friendly, HIPAA-compatible, and genuinely privacy-safe. Multi-Dimensional Sensing — Not Just a Fall Alarm This is a full occupancy intelligence sensor: - Fall Detection (0 = no fall, 1 = fall detected) — with configurable sensitivity (0–3) - Human Presence (0 = no one, 1 = someone present) — with adjustable detection threshold - Motion Status (0 = none, 1 = still, 2 = active) — real-time activity level - Movement Vital Signs (0–100) — granular motion intensity - Stationary Dwell Warning — triggers when a person remains motionless beyond your set threshold - Resident Duration — configurable dwell time (0–65535 seconds) - Fall Duration — how long a person has been down, critical for emergency triage This means you can build rich automations: turn on lights when someone enters, send an emergency alert if no motion is detected for hours, or trigger a caregiver notification when a fall exceeds your defined threshold. Configurable for Every Environment Every detection parameter can be tuned: - Scene Mode — living room, bedroom, bathroom (different RF profiles for different spaces) - Install Height — ceiling 220–280 cm, wall 180–240 cm - Install Angle — 0° or 45° - Fall Sensitivity — 0 to 3 levels - Detection Range — adjustable max distance for moving and stationary targets - Dwell Time Threshold — how long before a stationary alert fires - Unmanned Time — how long before reporting the room as empty Open JSON MQTT Protocol — No Lock-In All data is transmitted as human-readable JSON over two MQTT topics: - /Radar60FL/{DEVICE_ID}/sys/property/post (device → server) - /Radar60FL/{DEVICE_ID}/sys/property/set (server → device) Every attribute supports get (query) and set (configure) operations with consistent success/fail responses. You can selectively disable any data stream to reduce bandwidth. QoS levels (0, 1, or 2) are configurable. Works with: - Home Assistant (MQTT Auto Discovery compatible) - Node-RED - openHAB - Mosquitto / EMQX / any MQTT broker - Custom Python/Node.js/ESPHome integrations OTA Firmware Updates Both the WiFi module and radar core support over-the-air firmware upgrades. You host the firmware binary on your own web server, trigger the update via MQTT, and monitor progress (0–100%) in real time. The device restarts automatically and reports the new version on reconnect. Robust & Production-Proven The sensing engine and MQTT protocol have been iterated and deployed since 2022 across real elderly care environments. This is not a prototype — it is a mature, documented product with a clear revision history (V1.0 through V2.0). #### Technical Specifications | Parameter | Value | |---|---| | Radar Technology | 60GHz FMCW mmWave | | Wireless | 2.4GHz WiFi b/g/n | | Protocol | MQTT (JSON) over TCP | | Default QoS | QoS 1 (configurable 0/1/2) | | Mounting | Ceiling or wall | | Ceiling Height | 220–280 cm | | Wall Height | 180–240 cm | | Angle Options | 0° or 45° | | Fall Detection Sensitivity | 0–3 (adjustable) | | Detection Coverage | Configurable, up to tens of meters | | Motion Vital Signs Range | 0–100 | | Presence Energy Range | 0–4,294,967,295 | | Dwell Duration Range | 0–65,535 seconds | | Fall Duration Range | 0–65,535 seconds | | Unmanned Time Range | 10–1,800 seconds | | Power Supply | DC (refer to hardware label) | | Operating Environment | Indoor, darkness, steam, smoke | | Firmware Update | OTA (WiFi + Radar separate) | | Data Format | JSON, all fields documented | | Privacy | No image, no camera, no audio | #### What's Included - 1 × 60GHz mmWave Fall Detection Radar unit - 1 × Mounting bracket & screws - 1 × Quick start guide with MQTT topic reference - 1 × WiFi configuration instructions #### Use Cases - Elderly fall monitoring at home - Assisted living & nursing facilities - Smart home presence-based automations - Bathroom safety (shower/tub monitoring) - Bedroom night monitoring (works in total darkness) - Solitary confinement / welfare checks - Hospital patient room monitoring - Commercial elder care product integration #### Documented & Open Full protocol documentation is available.
