Baxter Health and the Mruk Family Center on Aging will host a free community event aimed at helping seniors stay safe while having fun.

The “Stand Tall, Don’t Fall” Senior Fall Prevention Carnival and Fun Fair is scheduled for Friday, April 24, from 10 to noon at the Baxter Health Wellness Education Center on Highway 5 North in Mountain Home.

The event will feature a carnival-style atmosphere with games, a magician, balloon artist, popcorn and cotton candy. In addition to the entertainment, attendees can take part in health-focused activities including Drum Fitness at 11, Tai Chi demonstrations, home safety education and fall risk assessments provided by Baxter Health Physical Therapy.

Several community resource booths will also be available, with representatives from Hospice of the Ozarks, Acute Rehabilitation, Home Health, the Reppell Diabetes Clinic, the Fairlamb Senior Clinic and Baxter Health Pharmacy, along with community partners such as the Area Agency on Aging, Care Manor, Home Instead and AudioNova.

For those needing transportation, parking will be available at the Mruk Family Center on Aging, with a free shuttle beginning at 9:45 and returning upon request.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 870-508-3880.
