Today, we’ll be taking a look at the EPOMAKER HE75 V2 TMR Magnetic Keyboard.

The EPOMAKER HE75 V2 TMR is a keyboard that aims to bring together the features enthusiasts have come to expect from a modern gaming keyboard with the customisation and feel of a more traditional mechanical board. Its 75% layout keeps the important keys you need for everyday use while cutting down on unnecessary desk space, and underneath the clean design is a TMR magnetic sensing system designed to give gamers much more control over how their keys respond. With features such as adjustable actuation, rapid trigger, an 8000Hz polling rate and tri-mode connectivity, the HE75 V2 TMR certainly has the specifications to compete with some of the more established gaming-focused keyboards on the market.

What makes the HE75 V2 TMR particularly interesting, however, is that EPOMAKER has not focused solely on raw gaming performance. The keyboard combines its magnetic technology with a gasket-mounted construction, multiple layers of internal sound dampening, a large 8000mAh battery and a hot-swappable PCB that can accommodate both magnetic and conventional mechanical switches. Compared with the standard HE75 V2, the TMR model also offers a different approach to magnetic sensing while retaining much of the same enthusiast-focused foundation. On paper, it looks like a keyboard designed to offer the best of both worlds — but how does it actually perform when put through everyday typing and gaming?

Box and Packaging

The EPOMAKER HE75 V2 TMR arrives in a fairly substantial box that immediately gives the impression that this is more than just a basic gaming keyboard. The packaging keeps things relatively clean and understated, with the keyboard itself being the main focus, while the EPOMAKER branding and model information make it clear what you’re getting. Inside, the keyboard is securely protected with moulded packaging and additional padding, helping prevent any unwanted movement or damage during transit. Considering the weight of the board, that extra protection is particularly welcome and gives the unboxing experience a reassuringly premium feel.

Underneath the main keyboard compartment, there is also a selection of accessories that you’ll need to get the most out of the HE75 V2 TMR. Alongside the USB cable and wireless receiver, EPOMAKER includes the usual tools and documentation, with the overall presentation feeling well organised rather than unnecessarily extravagant. It’s not the most elaborate keyboard unboxing experience we’ve seen, but the packaging does its job well and, more importantly, everything arrives neatly presented and properly protected. For a keyboard in this price category, that’s exactly what you want from the first interaction with the product.

A Closer Look

Taking a closer look at the HE75 V2 TMR, it is clear that EPOMAKER has put plenty of attention into the overall construction. The 75% layout strikes a good balance between keeping the useful navigation keys and function row while maintaining a relatively compact footprint. The aluminium body gives the board a reassuring amount of weight and rigidity, while the clean design and rounded edges give it a more refined appearance than many gaming keyboards. The rotary knob in the top-right corner is also a nice addition, providing quick access to volume and other controls without taking away from the compact layout. The keyboard has a substantial feel on the desk, with very little flex or movement during use.

The real point of interest, though, is what is happening underneath the keycaps. The HE75 V2 TMR uses magnetic sensing technology, allowing the actuation point of the keys to be adjusted to suit different preferences and gaming scenarios. The included magnetic switches feel smooth and responsive, while the gasket-mounted construction and internal dampening give the board a softer and more controlled typing experience. Another particularly useful feature is the hybrid hot-swap PCB, which gives the TMR version considerably more flexibility than the standard HE75 V2 by allowing compatible mechanical switches to be used alongside magnetic ones. Combined with the large battery, tri-mode connectivity and customisable controls, there is a lot packed into this relatively compact board.

The Product in Action!

Once you start using the HE75 V2 TMR, its gaming-focused features become much more noticeable. The TMR switches feel extremely responsive, and being able to adjust the actuation point gives you plenty of control over how the keyboard behaves. For fast-paced games, Rapid Trigger is particularly useful, as keys can reset quickly without needing to travel all the way back to their original position. Combined with the 8000Hz polling rate, the keyboard feels consistently quick and responsive, with key presses registering almost instantly. It is the sort of responsiveness that may not completely transform your gaming performance, but once you get used to it, going back to a conventional keyboard can feel noticeably slower.

Away from gaming, the HE75 V2 TMR is equally enjoyable to use. The gasket mount and internal sound-dampening layers give the keys a softer, more cushioned feel, making longer typing sessions comfortable without the board feeling overly soft. The included Creamy Jade switches have a smooth and satisfying press, while the compact 75% layout provides a good balance between desk space and functionality. Wireless connectivity also works well for everyday use, and having 2.4GHz and Bluetooth alongside USB-C makes it easy to switch between different devices. Compared with the standard HE75 V2, the TMR model’s ability to accommodate both magnetic and conventional mechanical switches also makes it a more versatile option for users who like experimenting with different switch types.

The Software

The HE75 V2 TMR’s software is where a lot of its customisation options become available. The interface gives you control over the keyboard’s key assignments, RGB lighting and other general settings, while the magnetic switches can be configured in much greater detail than on a conventional mechanical keyboard. You can adjust the actuation point to suit your preferences, as well as configure features such as Rapid Trigger and other performance-focused settings. This is particularly useful for gaming, as you can create a more sensitive setup for fast-paced games while using a more traditional actuation point for typing.

There is a slight learning curve to the software, especially if you’re new to magnetic keyboards, simply because there are so many settings to experiment with. Once you understand what each option does, however, it gives you a good level of control over how the HE75 V2 TMR behaves. The ability to save different configurations also makes it easier to switch between setups depending on what you’re doing. Compared with the standard HE75 V2, the software experience is broadly similar, but the TMR’s hybrid switch support gives it an extra layer of flexibility for anyone who wants to customise the hardware as well as the software.

Verdict and Conclusion

After spending time with the EPOMAKER HE75 V2 TMR, it is difficult not to be impressed by just how much EPOMAKER has managed to pack into the board. The TMR magnetic switches provide the fast and precise response you’d expect from a modern gaming keyboard, while features such as adjustable actuation, Rapid Trigger and an 8000Hz polling rate give it plenty of appeal for competitive gaming. At the same time, it doesn’t feel like a keyboard that has sacrificed everyday usability for performance. The gasket-mounted construction, sound dampening and smooth switches make it just as enjoyable to type on, giving the HE75 V2 TMR a good balance between gaming and general use.

The keyboard is also particularly strong when it comes to flexibility. Tri-mode connectivity, a large 8000mAh battery and the compact 75% layout make it easy to integrate into a variety of setups, while the hybrid hot-swap PCB is one of its most interesting features. Being able to use both magnetic and conventional mechanical switches gives the TMR version an advantage over many competing magnetic keyboards and makes it a more appealing choice for enthusiasts who like to experiment. The standard HE75 V2 remains an excellent alternative, particularly for those who want the finer 0.005mm actuation adjustment, but the TMR’s wider switch compatibility gives it a different kind of versatility.

Ultimately, the EPOMAKER HE75 V2 TMR is a very well-rounded keyboard that manages to combine enthusiast features with genuinely useful gaming technology. It is fast, comfortable, highly customisable and feels considerably more premium than a basic gaming board, while the TMR technology adds another level of control for those who want to fine-tune their setup. There are plenty of magnetic gaming keyboards available today, but the HE75 V2 TMR stands out by offering strong gaming performance without forgetting what makes a mechanical keyboard enjoyable to use in the first place.

Final words

The EPOMAKER HE75 V2 TMR is an impressive all-round keyboard that combines excellent gaming performance with a comfortable typing experience and plenty of customisation. With its TMR technology, premium construction and versatile switch support, it is an easy keyboard to recommend for both gamers and enthusiasts.

With that being said, I am giving this keyboard the editors choice award!
