I Bought Meta In 2022. After Today's Earnings, I'm Loading Up The Truck Again ????
As the title states, I bought a bunch of Meta in 2022 on average price of roughly $190/share, and I haven't sold a share since. It's now grown to be my biggest position at just over 15% of my stock portfolio of over 20 holdings.
So yes, it's a high conviction play, and No this is not the same crazy cheap valuation we saw in 2022 when it was 12 PE and down over 75%... But it is starting to look compelling again for value investors.
The stock is being pummelled in after-hours because CAPEX is coming in high (shockerrrr). I get every investment is the PV of all future cash flows and all the hyperscalers spending like crazy now on AI is deteriorating their short-term Cash Flows.
My belief is this a necessary spend for future dominance. Meta has the largest moat in their industry with literally half of the planet using their services (3.6B DAUs) and they are the #1 player in AI glasses which is the fastest growing segment in wearable technology.
This earnings report they grew revenues nearly 28% YoY and are trading at sub 20 PE after this after-hours fiasco. For a business with this kind of moat and these growth rates, this is a great entry point for value investors.
And if it goes sub $500/share I'll sell my dog and a kidney to buy even more shares.
