Is Venu 5 Worth The Waiting?

Card image cap

Garmin seems to update the Venu line roughly every 2 years, so if that pattern continues, a Venu 5 sometime around August/September 2027 would seem possible.

As smartwatch technology improving, does it make sense to wait for the next generation?

What would you realistically expect Garmin to improve on a Venu 5?

For example:

  • More physical buttons?
  • Better GPS or heart rate sensor technology?
  • More advanced training/recovery metrics?
  • Better support for gym and multisport activities?
  • Improved battery life?
  • New health sensors or features?

For someone who wants one watch for work + gym + martial arts + swimming + occasional running, would you buy the current Venu 4 or wait and see what Garmin does with the Venu 5?

I’m looking for a smartwatch with an all in one concept - something I can comfortably wear at work, but also use for the gym, martial arts, running, swimming, and everyday health tracking.

I’m not in a rush to buy a new watch. It would be nice to have, rather than something I urgently need, so I could easily wait another year.
