Wood County Hospital To Host ‘positively Pink’ Event About Balance And Fall Prevention
From WOOD COUNTY HOSPITAL
The “Positively Pink Women’s Health Series” at Wood County Hospital is a program covering a range of topics important to women in the community. The event begins with social time, blood pressure screening, and snacks. Each event offers an expert speaker who will presents a topic to improve women’s health or offer solutions to common problems women face.
The next Positively Pink event is on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m., with social time beginning at 6:30 p.m., in the Wood County Hospital meeting rooms. The event will focus on “Balance and Fall Prevention: Why It Matters.”
Maintaining balance is essential for reducing fall risk, especially for individuals living with arthritis or Parkinson’s disease. These conditions can affect joint mobility, muscle strength, posture, and coordination, making everyday movements more challenging. When vestibular disorders are present – issues with the inner ear that contribute to balance – the risk of falls can increase significantly.
The community is invited to join the hospital and Kasey McKanna for an informative evening to better understand these challenges and learn practical strategies to help stay safe, strong, and independent.
Registration for this event is free but required and can be done by visiting www.WoodCountyHospital.org/classes – Community Wellness or by calling Wellness Services at 419-354-8887.
Positively Pink is designed to provide women with the answers needed to live a long, healthy, and happy life.
