How Long Can Humanity Stay Human? The Rise In Ai Dependency | Chitrangada Nair | Tedxlfip Youth
AI can write papers, make art and videos, and even fake data. If it can fool scientists, it can fool anyone. Its friendly, validating tone makes people depend on it for comfort. Studies link mental-health problems to AI dependency, and youth mental-health issues are rising, so more AI use could worsen things.
AI is a tool and can help, but it doesn’t truly create; it remixes what’s online. AI mostly repeats our views and keeps us in a bubble. The future belongs to humans, not artificial mirrors.
Chitrangada Nair is a Grade 11 student at LFIP. While she is not reading, you'll either find her baking, playing the guitar, or listening to 70's rock (or all three at once). She enjoys the creative side of things, but she is just as drawn to the logic and curiosity that come with science. Her interests also include participating in Model United Nations conferences. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
