Better Home & Finance Holding Co. announced Tuesday that it’s powering the launch of Credit Karma Home Loans, an AI-driven refinance platform aimed at helping homeowners lower their mortgage payments.

The platform allows eligible Credit Karma members to get preapproved in as few as five clicks and complete a refinance in as little as 10 days. It uses Better’s Tinman AI Platform and Betsy, the company’s AI voice-based mortgage assistant, to streamline the process and reduce paperwork.

“Millions of homeowners are paying more than they need to — not because they’re doing something wrong, but because refinancing feels complicated or opaque,” Vishal Garg, founder and CEO of Better, said in a statement.

Credit Karma Home Loans evaluates each borrower’s information against thousands of loan programs to provide real-time, personalized options. It also monitors market conditions and alerts users when refinancing could lead to savings.

“Our goal is to empower Credit Karma members to easily access their money, and Credit Karma Home Loans is a natural extension of that goal. With Better, we’re able to offer members the best-in-class, AI-powered experience,” said Jason van den Brand, GM of Intuit Credit Karma Home.

“Credit Karma Home Loans finds money-saving refinance opportunities, and Better automatically matches the consumer and property data with the best fit.”

According to Experian, only about 1.7% of U.S. consumers have a perfect 850 FICO score, meaning most borrowers manage complex credit profiles alongside other financial obligations. Credit Karma Home Loans aims to help users navigate refinancing more efficiently by combining automation with guidance from live mortgage experts.

The launch comes amid ongoing discussions about housing affordability and access to credit. Companies and policymakers alike are exploring tools that improve transparency and help consumers make informed financial decisions.

Credit Karma members can learn more or start the refinance process at Credit Karma Home Loans
or through the company’s mobile app, a company press release said.

Tuesday’s launch comes shortly after Better announced the launch of a conversational credit decision engine that lets mortgage and home equity lenders run underwriting through ChatGPT using the Tinman platform.
