Columbia Residential, Decatur Housing Open 80-unit Affordable Housing Community In Metro Atlanta
DECATUR, Ga. — Columbia Residential and Decatur Housing have opened The Link at Columbia Senior Residences, a new affordable seniors housing development in Decatur, roughly seven miles outside downtown Decatur.
This marks the completion of the second phase of the development.
Totaling 80 units, the property is reserved for residents age 62 and older. The community will serve individuals earning at or below 60 percent of the area median income (AMI), with 24 units reserved for residents earning at or below 50 percent of the AMI and 17 units reserved for residents earning at or below 30 percent of the AMI.
The grand opening was held earlier this month. Construction on the project began in January 2024 and was completed in June 2025.
Funding for the community included low-income housing tax credits (LIHTCs) and financing from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, the City of Decatur, Decatur Housing Authority and DeKalb County.
