Avenue Development announces next Viva Bene active adult property

Avenue Development recently announced plans for its latest Viva Bene active adult community with the launch of Viva Bene Carmel, a $50 million development in Carmel, Indiana, according to a news release.

The 170-unit active adult community is designed for adults 55 and older with a wellness-centered approach to the community’s lifestyle offerings and amenities. The community was made possible through a partnership with the Carmel Redevelopment Commission and through support from the municipality’s tax increment financing (TIF) district in the northern part of Carmel.

Avenue recently opened its inaugural property in April of 2025 in St. Peters, Missouri in partnership with Sevi Health.

Chancey Development plans Florida community

Chancey Development recently announced plans for The Arbor at Watercolor Place, a new senior living community in Bradenton, Florida, according to a news release.

The community will include 96 residences of independent living, 76 residences for assisted living and 24 memory care residences, with units ranging from 400 square-feet to 1,350 square-feet across multiple layout options.

Amenities include a resort-style pool and deck with a covered pavilion, a bocce ball court, a pickleball court, dog wash station and a secure memory care garden and porch. Other amenities include multiple dining venues, including a bistro bar, fitness rooms and studio spaces, a salon, wellness suite and an arts and crafts room. Additional amenities include a theater, multipurpose space, game room and golf simulator.

The four-story community is slated to open in early 2028.

David Weekley Homes plans Georgia 55+ community

David Weekley Homes’ Atlanta division recently announced plans for Lanier Landing, its first 55-plus Encore by David Weekley Homes community in Gainesville, Georgia, according to a news release.

Construction is expected to start this spring.

The lakeside community will span 120 acres near Lake Lanier and will offer 229 homes with a choice of 20 floor plans, with customization options for indoor and outdoor living spaces, the release states.

Amenities planned for Lanier Landing include a resort-style clubhouse with a gym and aerobics studio, a pool, pickleball courts and an RV/boat storage lot

FK Architecture marks grand opening in Florida

FK Architecture recently celebrated the grand opening of Zion Village, a new affordable senior living community in Riverview, Florida, according to a news release.

The 75-unit affordable housing property is a four-story, garden-style development spanning 69,018 square-feet on a two-acre parcel. The community includes a ground floor lobby, surface level parking, clubroom, gathering areas, outdoor pavilion and seating, a fitness center, library, movie room and a media center, the release states.

Units are reserved for residents earning between 30% and 70% of the area median income. Zion Village was made possible through partnerships between the Tampa Housing Authority, Smith & Henzy Affordable Group, Mt. Zion AME Church of Riverview and Adonai’s Second Chances Inc.

National Church Residences opens affordable Ohio community

National Church Residences announced the grand opening of Berwyn East Place, an 88-unit affordable senior living community in Columbus, Ohio, according to a news release.

The community was made possible through a partnership between UnitedHealth Group, which provided $12 million in equity, administered through the National Affordable Housing Trust.
