John Knox Village plans sweeping redevelopment effort
John Know Village in Lee’s Summit, Missouri announced plans for a $220 million redevelopment plan that will reshape 25 acres on the campus over the next decade, according to a news release.
The effort is part of the modernization effort at the 55-year-old campus to meet the needs of today’s senior living customers and prepare for future demand.
An expansion will include 47 new homes “in the heart” of the community’s campus with construction planned for late next year. The community will also add more independent living units known as Country Club Estates with 62 new homes planned by the end of 2027.
The construction of the Country Club Towers will represent the “biggest housing project” on the community’s campus and include two residential towers with over 100 homes as large as 2,200 square feet spanning “seven to eight” stories. Amenities include a lakefront boardwalk, new dining venue, fitness and wellness spaces, community gathering areas and garage parking beneath all residences.
In 2025, John Knox Village completed a 52-home apartment building known as the Courtyards E Building.
The project adds new green spaces, updated golf course and lake features, a one-mile walking path from the Daniel D. Rexroth Recreation Center to the campus’s northwest corner, and a new grand entrance

Childcare center opens in North Carolina after nonprofit provider effort
The New Center for Thriving Children is set to open in the Winston-Salem, North Carolina area adjacent to the Brookridge Retirement Community, according to a news release.
