AHEPA Senior Living announces plan to add cooling systems

AHEPA Senior Living announced a $40,000 gift to add cooling systems to all 50 units at AHEPA 296 Senior Apartments in Pensacola, Florida, according to a news release.

The 202-unit subsidized affordable independent living community serves low income older adults 62 and older.

“This gift is a lifeline,” Joe O’Neil, AHEPA 296, Inc. board president, said. “Our residents work hard to maintain their independence. Knowing they’ll be cool and safe this summer because someone in this community cared enough to give so generously means everything to us and to them.”

New Jersey Economic Development Authority plans affordable community

The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) announced plans for a new affordable senior living community, according to a news release.

Totowa Affordable Housing is a redevelopment project that will add 141 affordable housing units for residents ages 62 and older.

The community will transform the former Little Sisters of the Poor into affordable senior living with multiple layouts.

Residents will have access to a fitness center, library, resident lounge and multipurpose dining space.

The community will be managed by Christian Health.

Marquette plans major expansion in Indiana

Marquette, a nonprofit continuing care retirement community, announced plans for a major, $102 million expansion project that includes new residential living options and additional amenities, according to a news release.

The project will add new residences known as The Flats and The Commons, along with additional amenities including an indoor sports court and waterfront lounge. The multi-phase project will add 69 luxury apartments homes, 25 “stacked flats” and updated the community’s central gathering space.

Construction is expected to start later this month, with plans to open in 2029.

The Terraces II will include a facade with glass wall corner units and design mirroring the community’s Terraces I building. A new dining venue and underground parting will also be added. Amenities include a bistro, pub, indoor swimming pool, fitness center, arts studio, library, salon, piano lounge and landscaped gardens with walking trails.

Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America celebrate opening in Colorado

Aberdeen Ridge, a new senior living community in Colorado Springs, Colorado, will celebrate the grand opening of the community on June 12, according to a news release.

The senior living campus includes 171 apartments, and amenities include an indoor pool and fitness center, creative arts center, a library and resource center, social spaces and a chapel, spa and barbershop. The community also offers priority access to assisted living and memory care at reduced rates, the news release states.
