Bozzuto Construction plans new community in Dallas

Bozzuto Construction announced an expansion into Texas, detailing plans for a new senior living community in partnership with Harbert South Bay and Arcadis, according to a news release.

The community, known as the Marianne, will be a 162-unit apartment property spanning 294,000 square-feet that will include independent living, assisted living and memory care, with the community specifically designed to help older adults age in place.

Minto Communities USA plans Texas mixed-use development

Minto Communities USA announced plans for a sprawling master-planned, mixed-use development in Waxahachie, Texas, according to a news release.

The 3,170-acre campus will include 13,270 homes, including 1,400 multi-family units spanning single-family homes, villas, cottages, townhouses and apartments. Neighborhoods of 55+ will also be part of the project.

The project calls for a town center and an “adventure park” with a mix of amenities with acres of civic space, 400 acres of parks, 1.2 million square-feet of mixed-use commercial space and a middle school and elementary school.

R.D. Olson starts construction in California

R.D. Olson Construction announced the start of construction at the Ivy Park in Arcadia senior living community in east Los Angeles, according to a news release.

The 107,706 square-foot community will add 100 units of assisted living and memory care apartments, and the $33 million project is built on a former restaurant and events space.

Amenities and community features include secure outdoor areas, a “sensory friendly” design with distinct colors and wayfinding to reduce confusion of those experiencing dementia and cognitive change. Other features include multiple community spaces and dining areas, a reading room, bar and lounge, along with a salon. A fitness center and specialized treatment rooms will also be part of the community.

The community was awarded a “density bonus” under the California Density Bonus Law which translated to larger apartments, common areas and improved amenity spaces, the release states.

Partners on the project include b.hills architecture and StudioSix5. The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2027.
