ThriveMore approves life plan community development

Not-for-profit senior living provider ThriveMore announced plans have advanced for a new life plan community in New Bern, North Carolina, according to a news release.

The Brice Pointe life plan community will include 152 independent living apartments, 52 villas and cottages, 18 apartments for assisted living, memory care and long-term nursing care.

Amenities include walking trails, outdoor gathering spaces and access to golf, pickleball, tennis athletic courts.

Brice Pointe is designed to meet the needs of older adults in the east North Carolina region and will be situated on a 70-acre campus overlooking Carolina Lake. The project is currently in the conversion phase, allowing “priority list members” to reserve units with a 10% deposit.

The community is scheduled to open in 2030.

Edgemark Development announces plans for senior living project in Nevada

Edgemark Development recently proposed a new senior living community in Spring Valley, Nevada, news that was first reported by NVBEX.

The 160-unit senior living community, known as Desert Hills Senior Living, will include independent living, assisted living and memory care spanning four buildings and encompass over 204,000 square-feet.

Desert Hills Senior Living will include 85 independent living units, 40 one-bedroom units and 45 two-bedroom units, along with 50 assisted living units. A total of 25 units will be designated for memory care spanning studio and one-bedroom layouts.

The project calls for 67,000 square-feet of outdoor space with multiple courtyards, along with a pool and spa, cabana area, bistro patio and grilling station.

Project details cited by NVBEX show the community will have “varying rooflines with parapets,” along with “enhanced articulation, decorative metal rails, metal awnings and balconies with metal rails.”

Calon Management starts on memory care community in Ohio

Calson Management has started construction on a new memory care community in Dublin, Ohio, according to The Independent.

The new community, known as Inspiration Memory Care, will serve older adults living with dementia and cognitive change.

“Inspiration represents our commitment to bringing thoughtful, compassionate memory care to the Dublin community,” Jason Reyes, principal at Calson Management, told The Independent.

“This groundbreaking marks the beginning of something we know will make a real difference for local families navigating memory care needs, and we’re proud to build it right here.”

The memory care community marks the first phase of a larger, senior living development at the property in Dublin, with plans for assisted living at the site also underway, the article states.

Plans were submitted for the new memory care community in 2020 and was approved in 2022. The one-story community includes 35,089 square-feet on a 1.63 acre property including private and shared suites, site plans cited by The Independent show.

Inspiration Memory Care will be part of the Linden Collection and serve as a “sister community” to the Linden Collection in Livermore and memory care in the Well at Sunset development.

CareStone Builders is the general contractor on the memory care community and Clason Management will serve as the operator.

McDowell Housing Partners, Miami Jewish Health open $139M affordable development

McDowell Housing Partners and Miami Jewish Health announced the opening of a $139.4 million affordable housing community in Broward County, Florida, according to Affordable Housing Finance.

The Douglas Gardens Senior Health and Living development includes affordable housing for those 55 and older, alongside a 15,000 square-foot medical center operated by Miami Jewish Health’s Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).

The project is located on the final portion of the 14-acre Miami Jewish Health campus, bringing 726 affordable housing units to the local Pembroke Pines area.

Units span three layouts for older adults 55 and up ranging between 30% and 100% of the area’s median income with accessible design.

Residents will have access to a range of PACE services through the medical center and PACE program, including adult daycare, rehabilitation services, wellness offerings and assistance with the activities of daily living.

The architect on the project is Reprtwar Architecture and Design with the general contract being MHP-ANF Group Construction.

Oasis Senior Living opens new community in Michigan

Oasis Senior Living recently celebrated the opening of a new independent living, assisted living and memory care community in Vienna Township, Michigan, news that was first reported by Mid Michigan Now.

The Oasis of Clio will include three buildings with 20 units each, and include a salon and break room.
