Evergreen Real Estate starts on affordable project in Ohio
Evergreen Real Estate announced the start of construction on a new senior housing affordable community in Holland, Ohio, according to a news release.
The community, known as Green Oaks of Holland, will offer 67 studio and 53 one-bedroom apartments with essential support for residents in activities and daily living across income levels.
Green Oaks of Holland will be managed by Gardant Management Solutions and is one of the first purpose-built affordable assisted living developments to break ground in Ohio, the release states.
The project is expected to be complete in March of 2027.

Waltonwood Senior Living welcomes residents in North Carolina
Waltonwood Senior Living, a division of Singh Development, is now welcoming new residents to Waltonwood Lead Mine, a new assisted living and memory care community in Raleigh, North Carolina, according to a news release.
The community includes 95 apartments with 11 assisted living and eight memory care floor plans, with options ranging from studios to two-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom assisted living apartments. Assisted living apartments include kitchenettes with full-size refrigerators, accessible baths with shower benches and handrails, high ceilings, enhanced LED lighting, individual climate control and storage space.
The memory care neighborhood includes studio and one-bedroom layouts within a secure setting where residents can access personalized care and service plans. The community spaces of the property are meant to feel “like a boutique hotel” with a vaulted, wood-plank lobby ceiling with a floor-to-ceiling fireplace with layered seating and a coffee nook.
Other amenities include a theater with cinema-style seating and popcorn bar, a restaurant-style dining room with exposed beans and herringbone fireplace and bistro.
McShane Construction, National Church Residences completes affordable community
McShane Construction Company announced the completion of construction work at Crossing Pointe, a new affordable senior housing property for National Church Residences.
The community sits on a 4.48-acre site in a four-story, woodframe construction accented by brick veneer and siding facade. Each unit has a one-bedroom, one-bathroom layout with a contemporary kitchen, solid surface countertops, black appliances, an accessible bathroom with a zero-threshold shower, spacious closets, in-unit laundry hook-ups, and luxury vinyl plank flooring.
Crossing Pointe includes a range of amenities including a community club room with a full kitchen, a fitness studio, computer center, on-site laundry and a mail room. The property also met the bronze certification from the National Green Building Standards with Energy Star appliances and water efficient bath accessories.
