Jim Barcelona Promoted To Evp At Chicago @properties Christie’s International Real Estate

The Chicagoland real estate scene is welcoming some new leaders to one of the metropolitan area’s largest brokerages @properties Christie’s International Real Estate.

On Monday, the firm announced the appointment of Jim Barcelona as its new executive vice president of brokerage services. Barcelona’s appointment comes after Thomas Downing announced his retirement earlier this year. In this role, the company said Barcelona will lead the firm’s team of managing brokers with a focus on coaching and business development strategies. Barcelona comes into this role with over 25 years of real estate experience, having begun his career in 1999 in commercial real estate before transitioning to residential real estate in 2013.

Barcelona has been with @properties since 2018, most recently serving as the company’s vice president of brokerage services for @properties’ Naperville, St. Charles, Downers Grove and Elmhurst offices.

Filling Barcelona’s vacant role are Mike Long and Kevin Rynes. Long will lead the @properties offices in Downers Grove and Naperville, while Rynes will lead the offices in Lake Forest and Elmhurst. 

A long-time Realtor, Long joined @properties in 2020 right after the Naperville office opened. Rynes comes into this new role having served as the vice president of agent development for @properties for the past two years. In this role he helped build and scale the company’s coaching and training initiatives. Earlier in his career he served as a managing broker for several Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices offices.
