The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) on Friday announced the appointment of Jeremy Green as the trade group’s vice president of legislative affairs.

In his new role, Green will focus on advocating for MBA’s policy priorities in Washington, D.C., with a primary focus on Democratic lawmakers in the U.S. Senate.

“Jeremy brings to MBA a proven track record of building strong relationships with policymakers and a thoughtful, strategic approach to advancing legislative priorities on behalf of the real estate industry,” said Bill Killmer, MBA’s chief lobbyist and senior vice president of legislative and political affairs.

“His focused expertise and passion for political advocacy, coupled with his family history of industry involvement, make him a great fit to join our lobbying team. I am confident he will be successful helping to produce positive legislative outcomes on behalf of both our single-family and commercial/multifamily members.”

Prior to joining MBA, Green was the vice president of federal government affairs for McGuireWoods Consulting and held multiple roles at the National Association of Realtors. At NAR, Green worked closely with Congress, federal agencies and real estate industry stakeholders on legislative priorities, national advocacy strategies and the shaping of federal housing policies.

Green has a bachelor’s degree in political science, with a concentration in American government and politics, from Syracuse University.
