ASHA announces new board members

The American Seniors Housing Association has approved two new executive board member organizations and three new representatives for existing ASHA board member organizations.

The new board organizations include Janus Living out of Irving, California, represented by Senior Vice President of Asset Management Patrick Cheng and Arcole Partners out of Atlanta, represented by Founder and Managing Partner Kelly Sheehy.

The board also approved new members David Caleca, managing director at CS Capital Advisors, LLC; Micah Gerber, co-president of Sinceri Senior Living; and Neal Raburn, managing director at Greystone.

Benchmark appoints SVP, general counsel

Benchmark Senior Living announced Sigrid “Sam” Usen has been named as its senior vice president and general counsel.

In this role, Usen will “lead the company’s legal department, providing strategic counsel backed by more than 30 years of legal experience,” according to a press release.

Usen comes to Benchmark from The RMR Group, where she served as assistant general counsel and chief compliance officer of the publicly traded alternative asset management firm, the release states.

Plante Moran Realpoint development arm gains capital leader

Plante Moran Living Forward, the senior living development advisory division of commercial real estate firm Plante Moran Realpoint, announced Adam Heavenrich has joined its team.

In his role, Heavenrich will lead the capital markets practice, focusing on structured finance, senior living and sale-leaseback transactions, according to a press release.

Heavenrich brings more than 30 years of experience to the organization and has advised senior housing owners, operators, nonprofit organizations and investors throughout his career, the release states. His addition “significantly expands Plante Moran Living Forward’s ability to help organizations navigate complex capital decisions alongside strategic growth, repositioning and consolidation,” the release states.

AI platform Occulytics prepares for growth

Occulytics, a data analytics and AI platform built for the senior living industry, has appointed Evan Friedkin as head of growth as it prepares to scale.

Friedkin will oversee the company’s sales, marketing and customer success functions, a press release states.

Friedkin joins Occulytics from Aline, where he served as vice president of sales following Aline’s acquisition of Roobrik in 2025, according to the release.

Marketing leader promoted at Epoch Senior Living

Epoch Senior Living has promoted Adele Pepin to senior vice president of marketing and communications.

In her new role, Pepin will “continue to drive the strategic direction of the company’s brands, expanding her leadership over comprehensive corporate communications and marketing operations,” a press release states.

Pepin joined Epoch Senior Living in 2019 as senior director of marketing before being promoted to vice president of marketing, the release states. She is credited with “successfully managing a major organizational transition by bringing marketing operations in-house, significantly reducing the company’s reliance on external providers.”

Atlanta community welcomes new board members

Lenbrook, an Atlanta intown community, has named Dave Fitzgerald and Lynn Sokler to its board of directors.

“Dave and Lynn bring many years of communications strategy, guidance and execution to our board,” Chris Keysor, Lenbrook CEO, said in a press release. “They each have earned numerous industry awards and recognition for their work, and we are honored to have them join the Lenbrook board of directors.”

Fitzgerald founded Atlanta-based advertising agency Fitzgerald & Co. and served as its CEO for more than 40 years, the release states. Sokler has “given strategic communications guidance and developed effective messaging for complex initiatives, crisis management and risk communication for four decades,” according to the release, and spent more than 20 years working at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

CC Young welcomes home healthcare leader

CC Young Senior Living has appointed Shallen Mirzababa as its new administrator of home healthcare.

In this role, Mirzababa will “oversee all aspects of CC Young Home Healthcare operations, including the clinical team, regulatory compliance, accreditation and coordinated patient care delivery both on and off the CC Young campus,” a press release states.

Mirzababa brings more than 10 years of clinical experience and expertise in healthcare leadership to the position, according to the release.
