Bowery Investment Partners names chief investment officer

Bowery Investment Partners announced Scott McCorvie has been named as its chief investment officer.

In a LinkedIn post, McCorvie wrote the investor is “building a quality portfolio to positively impact our industry for generations to come.”

He previously served as the CEO of Enhance Senior Living. Before that, McCorvie was the managing director of investments at Offerd, and he also served as the CEO of Vita Senior Living.

Tech provider Rendever appoints head of marketing, partnerships

Rendever, an immersive technology provider for the aging population, has appointed Nicole Will as its head of marketing and partnerships.

In her role, Will will be responsible for “expanding Rendever’s ‘Thrive at Home’ program and building vital partnerships with home care organizations, hospitals, healthcare centers and family caregivers to bring immersive virtual reality experiences to those aging in place,” according to a press release.

Will brings over 20 years of aging services experience to the position, starting as a registered nursing assistant and eventually serving as a director in senior living, the release states. She also created willGather, a “platform that elevates and collaborates with thought leaders, caregivers, brands and organizations in the aging services field to create meaningful change.”

Harbor Retirement Associates appoints VP of operations

Harbor Retirement Associates appointed Alex Sarmiento as its vice president of operations.

In this role, Sarmiento will lead operational strategies across HarborChase communities in Florida, South Carolina, Connecticut, Maryland, Illinois, Alabama, Delaware and Texas “with a strong emphasis on delivering exceptional hospitality services, enriching resident experiences and cultivating a culture of excellence,” a press release states.

Sarmiento brings over 20 years of experience to the position, and “has been instrumental in driving operational excellence, growth and reputation as a leading provider of independent living, assisted living and memory care communities across the Southeast,” the release states.

Anthem announces management team promotion

Anthem Memory Care announced Jennifer Boonstra has been named director of residence experience.

In this role, Boonstra will “spearhead the Pathways of Purpose efforts across Anthem’s 20 communities and provide strategic leadership and support to life engagement directors,” a press release states.

She brings 26 years of experience to the position. Prior to her promotion, Boonstra was senior life engagement director for Anthem Memory Care. Prior to that, she was life engagement director for Porter Place in Tinley Park, Illinois, and the memory care life engagement director at Senior Star at Weber Place, now called Story Point of Romeoville, Illinois, according to the release.

Ziegler adds to senior living practice team

Ziegler, a specialty investment bank, has added Nancy Hooks as Catholic elder care and post-acute specialist for its senior living finance practice.

“I’m thrilled to join Ziegler and continue supporting organizations that are committed to serving older adults and strengthening communities,” Hooks said in a press release.

She comes to Ziegler from LeadingAge National, where she served as senior vice president of member and state partnerships. While there for 25 years, she was the primary national liaison to 36 state partner associations representing 41 states and “built and sustained strong relationships with state association staff and board leadership, contributed to the development of both state and national strategic plans, supported executive leadership transitions and led national recruitment and retention initiatives for LeadingAge members,” according to the release.

Benchmark community names executive director

The Branches of Marlboro, a Benchmark assisted living and mind and memory Care community, announced Julia Hanan has returned to Benchmark as its executive director.

“Julia’s multi-faceted experience in senior living operations, programming and dining is a welcome addition to The Branches’ award-winning care and experiences,” Mike Lord, regional director of operations for Benchmark Senior Living, said in a press release.

Hanan brings more than 20 years of experience to the position, seven of which were spent in a variety of leadership roles for two of Benchmark’s premier continuing care retirement communities, Edgehill in Stamford and Meadow Ridge in Redding, Connecticut, the release states.

Juniper community welcomes executive director

Juniper Village at Monroeville announced Aimee Grayson has been appointed as its executive director.

In her new role, Grayson will “continue Juniper Communities’ mission of nurturing the spirit of life by fostering an environment where residents thrive and associates are empowered to deliver exceptional care and meaningful experiences every day,” a press release states.

“My goal is to bridge the gap between rigorous operational standards and the deeply personal nature of care,” Grayson said in the release. “I believe leadership is most effective when it is participative, respectful and rooted in the success of the entire team.”
