Senior Lifestyle executive elected to Affordable Assisted Living Coalition
Senior Lifestyle announced that Bob Gawronski, vice president of development and acquisitions, has been elected to president of the board of directors for the Affordable Assisted Living Coalition.
As president, Gawronski will “help guide AALC’s advocacy efforts to protect and strengthen Illinois’ Supportive Living model,” according to a press release.
“This role is an opportunity to continue advocating for a model that works – for residents, families and the state,” Gawronski said in the release. “Illinois’ Supportive Living program has proven that quality assisted living can be delivered in a way that is both compassionate and fiscally responsible.”
Enso Village appoints CEO
Enso Village, a Kendal affiliate, announced Sandra Simon has been appointed as its CEO effective March 2.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sandra to the Ensō Village community and the Kendal network,” Vassar Byrd, CEO of The Kendal Corporation, said in a press release. “With her unique combination of mindfulness practice and strong operational skills, she feels like just the right leader at the right moment as we grow into 2026.”
Simon brings over 25 years of experience to the role, and most recently served as executive director of Acacia Creek Retirement Community and Pavilion Assisted Living, part of Masonic Homes of California, the release states.
Friendship Village welcomes CFO
Friendship Village has welcomed Christy Hood as the community’s chief finance officer.
In her role, Hood will oversee all financial operations for Friendship Village, including strategic financial planning, accounting, budgeting and fiscal management, a press release states.
“Christy’s extensive background in corporate finance and public accounting, combined with her proven leadership capabilities, makes her an outstanding addition to our team,” Terry Walsh, president and CEO of Friendship Village, said in the release. “Her strategic financial expertise will be invaluable as we continue to enhance our services and strengthen our position as a leading senior living community in the region.”
Lenbrook names director of security
Lenbrook, an Atlanta, Georgia senior living community, has named Greg Wellborn as director of security.
In his role, Wellborn is responsible for ensuring the security of the Lenbrook campus and overseeing the daily operations of the security, concierge and transportation teams, according to a press release.
He brings more than 30 years of experience to the position and “most recently served as director of security for a leading commercial real estate developer,” the release states.
