Nwmls’s Longtime Coo Monica Beck To Retire

Northwest MLS’s (NWMLS) long-time leader Monica Beck has announced her retirement. Beck will step down from her role as NWMLS’s chief operations officer this coming spring, according to an announcement on Tuesday. 

Beck’s journey with the organization spanned 45 years, beginning in 1980 with the North End Brokers Association, which evolved into NWMLS. 

“Working at Northwest MLS throughout my career has truly been a privilege,” Beck said in a statement. “I am incredibly proud of the organization we have built together; one that champions service, integrity and leadership and consistently puts our members and the community first. Our commitment to doing the right thing has shaped every milestone and success along the way.”

Under her leadership, NWMLS evolved into an organization that serves over 35,000 subscribers across Washington, as well as parts of Oregon.

“Monica’s dedication to serving the brokerage and MLS community over the past four decades cannot be overstated,” Justin Haag, Northwest MLS’s CEO, said in a statement.  “She has been instrumental in the success of Northwest MLS and her genuine care for our members, staff and industry partners is a reflection of her exceptional character.”

Beck’s role at NWMLS will be filled by Chelsea Goyer, who comes to NWMLS with nearly 20 years of leadership experience in the real estate and pro-tech space. Over the course of her career, Goyer has held leadership roles at Redfin, Opendoor and Remine.

In the ensuing months, NWMLS said Beck will work closely with Goyer to ensure a smooth leadership transition.

Chelsea’s unique industry perspective and knowledge will help Northwest MLS continue as an industry leader serving its members and the public.”
