Jaybird expands with five communities
Jaybird Capital LLC, an affiliate of Jaybird Senior Living, Inc., acquired five senior living communities across Utah, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
Jaybird had assumed management of the communities in October 2025 and has since “stabilized operations and improved performance,” according to a press release.
Jaybird Capital “maintains an active 2026 acquisition pipeline of approximately 15 additional communities and expects its owned portfolio value to exceed $1 billion within the next five years,” the release states.
Buckner Retirement Services, Presbyterian Homes and Services complete joint venture
Nonprofits Bucker Retirement Services and Presbyterian Homes and Services announced the completion of their joint venture to acquire Parkwood, a senior living community, from Life Care Services.
As part of the transactions, the community is being renamed to Lightwell, according to a press release.
This is the first independent living-only community for Buckner and its eighth senior living community in Texas, all of which include independent living, according to the release.
LCB Senior Living acquires, manages two Vermont communities
LCB Senior Living announced it has acquired and assumed management of Maple Ridge Lodge and Maple Ridge Memory Care, located in Essex Junction, Vermont.
The communities will be renamed Maple Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care Campus, the release states.
LCB Senior Living now operates four senior living residences across Vermont, including The Residence at Quarry Hill, The Residence at Shelburne Bay, The Residence at Otter Creek and Maple Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care Campus, the release states.
JLL closes sale of two California communities
JLL Capital Markets announced it arranged the sale of The Commons on Thornton and The Commons at Union Ranch.
The two communities total 198 units.
JLL’s senior housing capital markets team representing the seller was led by Senior Managing Director Aaron Rosenzweig and Senior Director Dan Baker, a press release states.
Continuum Advisors sells Jacksonville Beach community
Continuum Advisors facilitated the sale of Beach House Assisted Living & Memory Care, an 84-unit community in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
Continuum Advisors was “exclusively retained to represent an institutional joint-venture ownership group,” a press release states.
The community was built in 2014 and offers 64 assisted living units and 20 memory care units.
SLIB announces two transactions
Senior Living Investment Brokerage announced it closed on two transactions throughout March.
The first was the sale of two class A independent living communities in the Charlotte Metropolitan Statistical Area, sold by a Southeast-based developer and bought by a publicly traded REIT that primarily focuses on healthcare and senior housing assets, according to a press release.
The second was a 13-property portfolio consisting of 13 assisted living and memory care communities located in various markets in Georgia and South Carolina. The seller was “an undisclosed institutional owner,” and the buyer is “a Southeast-based regional operator who intends to implement a robust re-positioning strategy to stabilize the assets,” the release states.

United Church Homes Management partners with EHM Senior Solutions
United Church Homes Management, a subsidiary of United Church Homes, announced it has partnered with EHM Senior Solutions.
Through the collaboration, UCHM will “provide comprehensive sales and marketing services to support EHM’s continued growth and long-term sustainability across its service lines,” a press release states.
UCHM will also “assist EHM in aligning its service offerings to encourage cross-referrals among product lines and build stronger partnership opportunities throughout the region,” according to the release.
Affiliations
Kauhale Healthcare Management facilitates affiliation, management change
Kauhale Healthcare Management announced it facilitated the affiliation between Otterbein SeniorLife and Vista Grande Villa, a nonprofit community in Jackson, Michigan.
The community is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Otterbein SeniorLife, according to a press release.
The venture was led by Blake Church, founder and executive managing director of Kauhale Health, the parent of Kauhale Healthcare Management, the release states.
