28 Years Later: The Bone Temple Is Coming To Netflix This Month
28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is coming to Netflix on March 31, 2026. This is a particularly short transition to streaming given the horror sequel was only released in theaters back in January.
It typically takes Sony movies quite a bit longer to come to Netflix, but the shorter theatrical window lines up with the film's VOD early release of February 17. Thanks to the Pay-1 deal the two companies struck earlier this year, Netflix has exclusive streaming rights to Sony's theatrical movies following their VOD runs. This agreement mostly applies to Netflix U.S. at the moment, but the deal is set to expand to the global market in 2027.
What We Said in Our Review
IGN had to chance to review 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple when it first came to theaters and gave it an 8 out of 10. Here's a quick snippet of what we thought about the film:
"Director Nia DaCosta crafts a great follow-up to last year’s 28 Years Later that’s gory and thoughtful in equal measure. There’s a wit and humor at play in The Bone Temple that elevates, in all the right ways, the dramatic stakes of a zombie apocalypse working on its third decade, especially in Ralph Fiennes’ record collection (I’d give the film a 666 if IGN would let me). While it might not be the best place to start watching the 28 Later franchise for the uninitiated, the creative force driving the series’ future have two solid movies as the foundation for whatever comes next." - Clint Gage
The Bone Temple is, of course, a sequel, but Netflix is already home to last year's 28 Years Later, where it's set to stream until March 2027. We also had the chance to review that movie and gave it a rare 9 out of 10, calling it "a timely coming-of-age story full of beauty and brutality in equal measure."
The streaming premiere of The Bone Temple caps off a pretty big month for new movies on Netflix in March. We've already seen the release of War Machine starring Alan Ritchson, while the much anticipated Peaky Blinders movie is coming to the platform on March 20.
