Learning and doing the right thing is important, but perhaps even more important is understanding why we choose to do it. In today’s world of instant gratification and constant recognition, understanding and applying our ancient wisdom has never been more crucial.

In his first TEDx Talk, Nimit shares his journey of understanding the shlok from Bhagvad Gita:
‘Karmanye vadhikaraste ma phaleshu kadachana’; a teaching that encourages us to focus on our
actions rather than their outcomes. He relates this simple yet difficult to apply shlok from the fresh
lens and life of 10-year old school boy. Blending storytelling, humor, and practical insights, Nimit also introduces a simple three-step approach that anyone can use to practice this timeless principle in everyday life. Nimit, a 10-years-old student of Grade 5, is a happy and playful child. He is friendly, caring, and loves spending time with his friends and family. His helpful nature, and ability to sense how others feel, helps him build meaningful connections with people around him.

He loves being active and exploring the outside world. He enjoys outdoor sports, athletics and spending hours in this imaginary world with his LEGOs. At the same time, he is fascinated by the stories of Ramayana and Mahabharata and is curious to understand and explore the timeless wisdom they hold. He tries to interpret and apply this knowledge in his own simple ways. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
