[ca, Ny, Other States] Have Been Receiving Violent, Threatening Calls/texts/emails/etc. For A Year And A Half... Any Other Options For Me?
Location: CA, NY, other states -- to clarify, I've been in CA along with other states during this, and he's in NY
The obvious answer is to change my contact information, which I do plan on doing. I've had the same information for a long time though, and it's going to be a real pain to do that. And I'm concerned that even if I do, he'll find a way to keep contacting me anyway.
I've been receiving messages from a guy I used to chat with. He became jealous and when I stopped talking to him, he began harassing me and other people in my life. My boyfriend, my sibling, my dad, my work, etc. He has told me I deserve to die, that I deserve to be beaten and sexually assaulted, that he's going to find me someday, etc.
I went to a legal clinic and they sent him an order to desist. I've contacted police over a dozen times. There doesn't seem to be much that they can do since it's happening over phone/Internet. They go and tell him to stop, but then he starts right back up again.
Do I have any other options? I was looking at reporting him to the FCC, but it looks like they really just deal with spam/scammers. Would his phone carrier take action against him? Do I have any other legal options?
