(idaho) Doc Didn't Take Complaints Seriously And Then I Almost Died

Card image cap

Location: Idaho, USA

about two years ago I saw my primary care doctor a few times through the year as I was experiencing irregular menstrual like bleeding and pain. first he told me he thought it was cramps but I kept coming in, insisting something was wrong. At one point I came in again insisting on an exam. he seemed uncomfortable with it but did it anyway, but it was very short. he said I had a scab in there and was being "too rough" down there... which to be frank, nothing in my intimate life could possibly cause that and I told him as much. but he didn't listen. about a month later I got rushed to the ER hemorrhaging and was diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer.

It was severe and you could literally see it via an exam.

I survived treatment and I am luckily in remission now. do I have any discourse? I will say my care was covered by Medicaid but I was unable to work or even get out of bed for a year and it has been catastrophic on my family.

all visits including notes and details were automatically documented by the health portal and I have it all downloaded.

I probably should have done something sooner but I am still recovering, the treatment alone has filled my insides with severe radiation burns and only recently I've really started to be functional.
