[va] Being Told I Cannot Contact My Ex-stepmother Due To A No Contact Order Between Her And My Father, But I Suspect I'm Being Lied To
Throwaway account for what I hope become obvious reasons
My father and stepmom divorced at the beginning of the year due to a cheating situation, her not him. Obviously that means tensions between them are very high, and my dad handles situations like this poorly and isn't the most honest interlocutor when it comes to addressing and dealing with stuff like this.
Earlier this week, he told me and my siblings that he had a no contact order brought by my stepmom against him, and said the judge ruled that us kids cannot contact her either for a period of one year. The thing is, I have taken a peek at some of his legal documents, and the only one pushing for no contact in those is him, so I am not sure if the order actually applies for me and my siblings. Obviously things in our family are messy, but I do want to be able to contact and speak with her and her family.
Given that context, my primary questions are 1) If this no contact order between them extends to full no contact for myself and my siblings, and 2) If I have a right to access/see the ruling from the court as it supposedly directly applies to me and my siblings
Me and most of my siblings are all adults, I know that's legally relevant. Any advice is appreciated. Location: Virginia
