Account Suspended For Reporting Csam. Am I In Trouble?

Location: Maine, USA

Rewritten for better explanation and intent

So recently I was scrolling Twitter/X for regular, legal adult porn. (Certain OF creators I like post free stuff on there). Suddenly csam pops up. I report it, but notice all these weird hashtags. Out of curiosity I tapped on them, and realise how big of an issue this is. I report the worst of it, but obviously I cant sit there and report every single post thats popping up because for every one that gets reported, 10 more pop up. I probably reported 20 videos containing the most horrific things Ive seen in my life.

Today my account was suspended and Im unable to at least delete it to save my data. Im terrified that somehow I'll get in trouble for seeing this stuff and interacting with the hashtags, despite my reporting it. I realise now I should have just reported the first one I saw and deleted Twitter for good, but I truly thought I was doing the right thing by risking glimpses if it meant reporting it to be taken down.

Turns out they dong give a fuck about illegal posts, but Im terrified that I'll somehow be associated with it and have the cops at my door. I already submitted a claim to Twitter but no response yet. Is there anything to worry about? Should I contact my local PD and explain the situation to avoid trouble down the line in case my account gets forwarded to law enforcement?

I honest to God thought I was doing the right thing and now Im shaking and hyperventilating.
