Ada Handling The Case I Am A Victim In Seems Like She Is Close With The Defense Attorney
Location: New York
So I am the victim in a misdemeanor case with my ex girlfriend. Me and her are also in family court, and there are 2 temporary orders of protection on each other.
When me and the ada talked about the outcome I wanted, she said she “knew her attorney, and that she is really good”. I think she was in school with her.
When I was at my exs court date last week, the ada told me what she offered, and I saw my exs attorney in the court room talking to the ada and they were giggling and laughing the whole time, and the defense attorney was bent over on the table talking with her while they are laughing.
My question Is:
Is this professional?
Should I be worried about a possible bias? She already dropped the top charge even though she told me she’d fight it in a trial if they didn’t agree to the deal she offered.
This ADA talked to me weekly, which then we’ve met at the past appearances, and she gave me updates and on email. This last appearance she told me she can’t talk to me without my attorney, since I am the defendant in a case, (isn’t even handled by the district attorneys office, it is a violation offense (traffic ticket essentially)
What can I be doing regarding this? I don’t feel protected by this ADA anymore, even though this girl put me in the hospital, and admitted to what she did that caused the 2 day stay in the hospital
