Air Canada Refused Boarding
Location: Chicago, USA
Hi I’m going to try to keep this as short as I can because we are currently trying to figure out a solution. In summary my grandparents were supposed to fly from Chicago to Canada to Amsterdam to India. My grandma has an issue in her passport which had existed for decades(I’m not so sure). Her last name and first name are swapped. Previously she had no issues, and even if they were to stop her, she had a court order about the glitch.
At the ticketing counted for air Canada she was refused boarding and a refund. The supervisor was called and had stated to contact Expedia to fix the ticket issue. Expedia supposedly takes 30+ hours to get a name change. They asked for a refund(a Hail Mary Ik) which was refused as expected.
I wanted to state that I’m aware that air Canada or Klm(connecting airline) are not obligated to take a court order from the United States. I just wanted to know if there was something we could do to either get boarded on another plane within today and tomorrow because we don’t live in chicago(we drove), or if we could somehow hopefully get a refund.
If there are any updates I’ll add an update here.
