At&t Sent Me To Collections
Location: South Carolina
Back in December, I decided to try AT&T WiFi because I was tired of my bill from my current company. I went to their location and was told that I could do a 10 day trial with their internet air. If I canceled the service in that 10 day period, the fees would be waived from my account. I also had to return the equipment by February 1st. I continued to get bills in the mail, so I called att customer service and they told me basically verbatim “ignore the bills, the fees will fall off after we’ve received the equipment.” I canceled my service on day 5 and sent the ATT equipment back via UPS on January 13th per the receipt I currently have. So I canceled my service day 5 into the day 10 trial, sent in my equipment on January 13th when it was due February 1st, and was told on more than one occasion by ATT representatives that my fees would fall off the account. Today, I got a collections letter in the mail for unpaid fees. What do I do?
