Bar Fight. Help Please.

A fight broke out at a bar after two men were repeatedly groping my friends. One of my friends threw a drink, and then my boyfriend and another friend ended up getting into a physical fight with the two men.

My sister went over to help my friend because he was involved in the fight. At that point, a male employee from the bar jumped over the bar, put his arm around my sister’s neck, and physically removed her from the bar. From our perspective, he was choking/restraining her while taking her outside.

Afterward, the bar kicked our group out. The two men who had originally been groping my friends left and slid out no one saw them and the police did not speak with them.

The bar employee then told police that someone had hit him. He had a mark on his head, but none of us know how he got it or who caused it. He accused my sister of hitting him.

Police placed my sister in the back of a police car and initially treated the situation like she was being arrested, but they eventually released her that night.

We have now received a citation in the mail charging her with harassment involving physical contact. My sister is 30 years old, has no prior criminal record, and denies hitting the employee.

We are trying to understand how difficult this would be to fight in court, especially considering the circumstances leading up to the incident, the fact that the employee physically restrained her around the neck, and the lack of clarity about who actually caused the injury to his head.
