Bathroom Remodel Leads To Hoa Issues

Card image cap

Location: Lynnwood WA

Hello, I have had issues with my remodel at my condo unit. I had a guy working on it all, until he find mold. I was kind enough to let them know at the HOA, when I could have easily tried to fix it with my contractor and keep quiet.

The HOA sent the old manager no longer in his position, but a training position for the next manager, that has taken 3 months, according to not training daily…

They entered my unit, checked it all out, and said I need to remove two side boards, and the subfloor to remove all the mold at the bottom. We know there is damage, but to take out the subfloor and do the tiles later with the side boards , it will cost up $20,000 or up. However I have asked the HOA for information about the trainers new position, and have been ignored, as well as trying to communicate how to get this properly fixed and who is responsible. This trainer has been a creepy spying older gentleman who damn near everyone in the whole complex does not like.

He has been spying on me driving by. And acts like he is in charge everywhere, when there is supposedly a woman in charge (not certain here).

Should I get an HOA attorney? My contractor kept trying to talk to the guy, but he wouldn’t let anyone talk. Even the trainee.

This man has been in my garage because supposedly it’s the biggest one on property. He was literally measuring it wide open… lastly they have forced me out of my own garage because I have heavy tile I cannot move as a lady in her 50’s. They even started giving me warnings, and about to ticket me when I was in the countless open guest spots. They are saying I need to park on the street, which is a far far travel for me, and dangerous nowadays too.

Thank you for any information. I appreciate it greatly
