Ca Edd Doubled The Overpayment They Want From Me After They Agreed To Have Edd Benefits To Pay Back Overpayment

I am likely one of millions who have received letters from the EDD recently wanting money back for overpayments. Here's the issue when the initial issue came about I tried to appeal and inform them that I was indeed unemployed during those dates but my appeal was denied nonetheless (I might have missed a hearing but I'm not 100% sure). However, what the judge decided from that situation (I believe in 2023) was that instead of paying back the $4k they gave me in the pandemic (because I couldn't afford that anyhow) - instead what they would do is that if and when I used EDD again that my overpayment benefit would kick in and any payment I would receive would just go towards what I owe. Well since that decision I was unemployed for 3 months in 2024. Now fast forward to 2026 and I got a letter saying they want their money pay AND they added additional fees on top so in total they want back about $8k which is double the amount originally owed & doesn't mention any prior decision or anything else removed or already paid for. Obviously the letter mentions the appeal process. But since I have not "passed" this process before I don't know how to go about this again.
