Co Workers Behavior Is Escalating

Hello, I’m 24f and location: PA.

Long story short, I have a coworker at my restaurant job that is genuinely scaring me. Leaving this job is not an option right now, but I feel uncomfortable and am wondering if it’s worth going to police about.

Here’s the highlights:

- Co worker asked me out a few months ago, I said no.

- He immediately started treating me differently, he was extremely hot and cold, some days overly nice, and some days just mean and ignoring me

-About a month ago, he sent me over 40 messages explaining in full detail how he tried to end his life and that I was the only one he trusted to tell.

-In the same messages, he dumped years worth of trauma on me. I responded and basically said I wasn’t the right person to help him, and he needs professional help.

-yesterday at work, he was actively being rude/ignoring me about work related things, rolling his eyes when I was near. Eventually he brought up wanting to end his life again and when I didn’t give him the reaction he wanted, he started acting 10x worse. Glaring at me from across the restaurant, slamming things near me, etc.

-after this behavior started yesterday, when I wasn’t looking he wrote things in Latin on my notepad, they translated to “death to all, death to my enemies.”

- began actively posting about me on instagram, the posts said “your ignorance is my disease” and “don’t be upset when I start ignoring you, you started this.”

- another co worker who overheard called 911 and asked for a welfare check, as we didn’t know if he was genuinely suicidal. Cops went to his house and deemed him stable, didn’t do anything.

-this morning I woke up to multiple messages accusing me of being the one who called and that it ruined his life and made everything worse. I responded and said it wasn’t me, but that he needed serious help. I didn’t respond any further

- I talked to my manager today, and he decided he’s going to fire him. I also cross checked stories/facts with another co worker who is close to him. I found out he has been lying about his age, along with telling people that we go on dates often. This is obviously not true.

Now I’m scared that it’s going to escalate further, I’m nervous now that he’s getting fired that he’s going to blame me and retaliate. He seems unstable and I don’t know where to go from here.

Is this worth reporting to police? Or do I just increase my awareness and hope he leaves me alone.

Any advice is appreciated.
