Confused And Frustrated? What Should I Do?

Card image cap

Location: Los Angeles

Hi All,

I have Been in a lawsuit against an old employer for the past 1 year and 3 months the law firm i hired seemed to be the only one willing to take my case they had good reviews after I signed the retainer and sent evidence over of discrimination and harassment following a write up after complaining to hr they also had me get a workers comp lawyer that settled my case in about 4 months with the workers comp board.

Now that this civil case has stayed in the pre litigation stage with 4 demand packets sent to my old employer with no response i have had a total of 4 case managers. Each of these case managers responses are "we are working on your case it is a slow process etc" we will give you updates from "your attorney once they are available".

I have yet to talk to the attorney herself it is very frustrating because i know the company i worked for is aware the case may go to civil trial after my workers comp case settled they wanted me to sign a no further lawsuit agreement for an extra $100 which i declined per my lawyers request. I recently called my new case manager stating my frustration and let her know i am doing what they request searching for jobs and attending therapy appointments, did i hire the wrong attorneys? What should i do? I will add they stated they are re-evaluating their strategies as part of the next process but honestly after they wrote a statement for me to quit my job i feel stupid!
