Dad Has Taken Over 10k In Savings

So a bit of context. I (22M) have a joint bank account with my mom listed as the co-owner.

She recently passed away and as a result my dad was having trouble with paying his rent using his account (which doesn't make sense but hes my dad so I trusted him) so he has been using my account for the last few months and has had a problem paying me back.

Ive asked a ton and we have had a lot of issues come up with my grandmother passing, dogs having health issues, and life changes now that my mom is gone, so he has been able to avoid it for a while.

I recently told him that he needs to get me the money back soon and he has been incredibly shady and avoidant of everything. I have moved the rest of my money to a new account so he shouldn't be able to touch anymore of it.

I am mostly wondering if I have any legal ground against him if it comes to that. I know that with a joint account they have free reign to use it but since it was in my mom's name, I'm not sure if he is legally allowed to use it.
