Dealer Sold Me A Lemon.

i’m 17 in NJ. My family and I bought a 2017 Hyundai Elantra in NJ for $4,500 cash from a licensed dealer/mechanic. The dealer information/license number is on the vehicle title.
Person 1 was the person who showed us the car and told us it was good, reliable, and had no problems besides minor maintenance. Person 2 was the person we actually paid and who was involved in the sale.
About a month later, after sitting for around 2 weeks, the car wouldn’t crank or start.
We paid $200 for a mechanic to diagnose it, but they couldn’t find the issue. Person 2 has had the car for over 2 months now, trying to fix it. He changed the ECU, sensors, and apparently even the engine. He hasn’t been charging us for the repairs and says he’ll fix it for free, but it continues having problems. He also told us that we should start saving money to buy another motor.
We asked for our $4,500 back, but he refused and offered an older, higher-mileage Hyundai instead.
Today we discovered vehicle-history information showing that Person 2 had acquired the car from a junkyard and that it had previously been declared JUNK/salvage. None of this was disclosed to us, and we were told the car had no problems.
CARFAX doesn’t show the JUNK/salvage history, so we’re getting official NJ MVC records to verify everything.
Do we potentially have a case under NJ Consumer Fraud laws? What should we do next?
