Dealership Sold Me A Car With Junkyard Parts.

Card image cap

Location: Minnesota.

My car is currently at the service center at the dealership I bought it at.

I brought it to them because the horn does not work, and has not worked since I bought it.

They agreed to pay for it, even though it was sold as is, and now I found out why.

According to the mechanics report, someone had cut the airbag harness and replaced it with Junkyard Parts (Salvage).

They are replacing the airbag, harness, and steering wheel, but now I am wondering what else could have been replaced with junkyard parts?

And what did they miss if they didn't even verify if the airbags were functional.

CARFAX is clean.

From my research, lemon law doesn't apply as it is out of manufacturers warranty.

It has also been found to have a faulty turbocharger, which is covered under my extended warranty.

I'm wondering if I have any grounds to sue, as I don't feel comfortable driving this car, at least until it has a full inspection done, and it's safety can be assured. We are going to try to ask for a full safety inspection, but want to be prepared if they decline.

Thanks for any input.
