Dentist Didn’t Complete The Treatment They Billed Insurance And Myself For. Tho Yet To Deliver, Have Authorized A Refund For The Insurance Company But Make Petty Excuses For Not Paying Me.

Location: California, US. Paid in full for bridgework. The dentist took payment from the insurance before seating the final prosthesis. I had to move away and was probably not going to be able to finish treatment with them. Extracted two teeth, pulled out infection, prepped two teeth for crowns and did put grafting in. The site of the infection was never treated and when the day came to put my permanents in, my gums had subsided so much that they didn’t fit. They temporarily adhered the ill fit porcelain in my mouth as that was all they had on hand and sent me to a specialist. Specialist said wait 4 or six months. Two weeks later the temp adhesive failed and the porcelain fell out of my face and broke. I went back and got another set of lightweight temporary bridge work installed. Two weeks later I took a job outside of the continental United States and said I would try to make it back to them for the final procedure but it was unlikely.
I returned four months later and they couldn’t take me up on the opportunity to finish.
I started to pursue a refund for the services not rendered and went in circles with them for six months as they had overcharged my insurance and I initially and refunded me that portion but not for the expense porcelain they never put in. I finally got the financial specialist to understand that difference and they said that I and my insurance was indeed authorized a refund for the portion that they didn’t accomplish. Five months later still my insurance or myself have not received anything.
I try contacting them and they site the initial overcharge refund then quit answering any of my correspondence at all.
I got my insurance to get them on a call where they gave them a bogus number for the check supposedly sent to my insurance and deny me my portion saying that they gave me the broken porcelain and I was refunded all that they’re going to pay me already ($400 of about $5000 out of pocket where most of the cost is in the porcelain bridge itself).
It was suggested by the insurance agent that called for me that I get a transcript of the call, file grievances with them, the commissioner, and the board.
I’m having a hard time finding a lawyer to consult. Do I have a case here if they are saying that the insurance is to be paid back for the services not rendered but not me?
