Detained, Searched, Drugs Seized By Sheriffs And I Was Let Go With No Paperwork, Little Explanation. Is This Common, What To Expect?

Location: Michigan

Trying to keep it short, but basically I was sitting alone in a parking lot, pulled up on with flashlights by sheriffs who then detained and searched my car due to white powder and razor blade in open view. Obviously assumed I would be booked into jail, I even asked them at first and they said yes I was going to county jail. After searching and seizing a pretty good amount (at least 5-7 grams of blow), they took me out of the cruiser uncuffed me and told me to just leave my car overnight to pickup later and get a ride home. I'm confused because that's all they said, they gave me no papers, didn't tell me my charges or anything. I had to ask them,"sooo I'll just get a ride home and wait for something in the mail or something?" and they just replied "yup". I'm also confused, I don't know if the deputy forgot to give my license back or if they took it to suspend it or what. I was keeping my mouth shut and don't want to push much if they're trying to cut me a break. I called non-emercency dispatch about getting my license back they said nothing about charges or a suspension and said they would e-mail the deputy to see if he has it. I'm just confused on what the process is gonna be or if there even is one
