Divorce Advice (long Read)

My husband and I are separated and getting a divorce. We got married September 2025, via virtual marriage since we’re both on rotation with the military. Things were rocky before the marriage, and he’s been known to hold things over my head (this is vital information for later). We tried to make it work, but it is not a healthy marriage at all.

As I’m trying to fill out the initial paperwork for the divorce, he is demanding a couple things that don’t sit right with me.

For context, back in April 2025 when we were dating, he pulled out a $5,000 loan to get me a motorcycle. The original plan was for me to pull out the loan, but he pulled it out to surprise me. From that point, we got into multiple fights and he’s threatened to take the bike with him if he leaves. His name is on the title, I’m just sending him the monthly payments and paying for the insurance. Fast forward to now, he wants me to take the bike and take over the loan. He’s been confusing in this regard though, as there’s more.

He bought our rings (engagement, and both our wedding rings) in May of 2025. He was talking to me when he was going over them, and I asked him to not make them expensive. It was one of the only things I asked of him, because I absolutely hate anybody at all spending a huge amount of money because it’s been used against me in the past. As of now, he wants me to pay him $1000 for the rings, since they originally cost $2000+.

This is some of the things he has told me:

“You know what i want. Reimbursement for the rings, and i'll give up your motorcycle. If not, i'll keep your bike and just sell it to reimburse myself. I don't care which route you wanna go. Bc either way imma get the money”

After this was said, I told him to just take bike. He then responded with he doesn’t want the bike anymore, and I have to do the first option. Fast forward, and one of the last things he said was that I need to either take the loan / bike over, or pay him $1000.

More context / location. We were married on VirtualMarriage and it’s a state of Utah marriage license. Both of us are originally stationed in Texas.
