Do I Have A Civil Case?
I m/40 moved in Location: Virginia with my 41/f girlfriend a year ago after we were together for a year. I blew up my life where I was and got rid of everything I owned because I thought the ludicrous idea of “maybe something good will happen?”
I was paying 2,000USD a month for the past 11 months but I stared noticing some things that didn’t seem right.
I found out about two months ago she was recording me from cameras hidden in smoke detectors and had watched me in our bedroom without my knowledge or consent. When I asked her about it I was lied to, gaslighted and told I was insane. She also installed an app on my phone to project my screen to the bedroom tv as long as I was on the WiFi. That part I cannot prove but I realize that this sounds insane.
When we agreed to go our separate ways amicably because we share a dog together I was fine with everything but I wanted to not sound like a lunatic telling anyone my side of the story. Is this proof enough to sue for the 22k that I paid her while being recorded without my knowledge or consent?
