Doctors Lost My Blood Test Twice For Something That May Determine My Life Expectancy

I’m 19, and recently ended up hospitalized due to a very severe kidney infection. Doctors found that I had chronic damage resulting in stage 2 or 3 kidney disease that had been building up for some time, and I’ve gone to a nephrologist for a few different tests to rule out AIDS, autoimmune disorders, etc. Everything came up negative and over a month ago I went in to get more blood drawn and sent to a lab for genetic testing.
It was impossible to get ahold of them for almost a month, and ultimately they told me it was sent to the wrong place. I was upset of course, but went back the following day (last Friday) to get my blood drawn once more. Today I was called 3 minutes before they closed and told it was sent incorrectly AGAIN.
I’m luckily still on my mom’s insurance, but I really am struggling to afford all the bills as it is and I really don’t think I can handle being charged multiple times for something. Am I able to demand I only pay for it once? How do I go about doing that? My kidneys seem to be okay for right now, but I could end up hospitalized again at any moment and this whole thing is just so awful and confusing. Any advice is greatly appreciated
