Elderly Parent Attempted To Wire $281,900 To An “investment” Introduced By A Friend. Brokerage Reported It To Police And Aps. What Should Family Be Doing Now?

Location: Washington State.

I recently obtained a police CAD report related to my elderly mother (83). According to the report, a mandatory reporter from a major brokerage firm contacted police after my mother attempted to send a wire transfer of $281,900 to what was described as an “unknown investment” that she said she learned about through a friend.
The report states that approximately $50,000 had already gone through and that Adult Protective Services (APS) was notified.
At the time, a fraud investigator from the brokerage contacted me because I was listed as a trusted contact. Due to privacy rules, he would not disclose the amount involved, but asked for my input regarding the transaction. I told him I did not believe the transfer should proceed.
The amount involved represented most, if not all, of my mother’s investment assets.
There is a long history of concerning financial decisions, family conflict, and refusal of assistance. My concern is not whether the investment itself was legitimate. My concern is whether this event would be considered evidence of financial vulnerability or diminished capacity if guardianship/conservatorship ever became necessary.
Questions:
In Washington, would an incident like this typically be relevant evidence in a guardianship/conservatorship proceeding?
How much weight would a court give to a brokerage firm’s fraud concerns, APS notification, and police report?
Would a current neuropsychological or capacity evaluation generally carry more weight than past financial incidents?
If the family is divided and the parent refuses assistance, what types of evidence are courts generally looking for to determine whether intervention is appropriate?
Not looking for specific legal representation, just trying to understand how courts generally view situations involving suspected financial exploitation of an elderly adult.
