Employer Says They Will Fire Me If I Stand Ground On Wanting Raise.

Location: WA State

My supervisor's boss and another higher up in the company recently told me they expect me to take on the responsibilities and duties of a former higher level employee.

I responded that if I was going to be taking on those responsibilities I want to be compensated accordingly.

My supervisor just had a meeting with them regarding this email exchange after they went silent on me the minute I mentioned wanting more money and they told him in a nutshell that if I stand my ground on wanting more compensation they will fire me.

I certainly intend to stand my ground. Is it grounds for wrongful term if they do let me go?

Edit for clarity:

This is not a role change. I would continue in my current role and the new responsibilities would be added on top of my existing ones.

The company I work for provides technical support to our customers. One of the customers fired their internal Internal IT manager and my employer is expecting me to take over all of their internal responsibilities for the customer.
