Framed For Unemployment Benefits Fraud, Just Found The Reason Why Yesterday

Last year I took a seasonal job as an Amazon DSP delivery driver. It paid well, so even though it was a tough job, I was able to mentally ignore all the red flags and just work mindlessly until the end of the contract. About a week before the actual end of the contract, they called me and said that the seasonal workers that were not considered for contract renewals were being slowly let go as the routes were being shrunk after the peak season ended, and told me to go collect my last paycheck.

As I already knew this was a seasonal position and the job was absolutely exhaustive and out of my career abilities, I was actually relieved, I took the paycheck, started looking for other jobs (which was impossible after 10-12h shifts where I was running and rushing the entire time) and applied for unemployment benefits.

I had my own mishaps trying to get the unemployment benefits, (sent all the paperwork and waited to be able to certify the weeks, never got a response, my calls only got answered a couple of months later and they were trying to blame me for not certifying weeks that I was not able to) but after 6 months they finally sent me the money.

I thought this problem was finally over, but then last week I received a notification stating that an eligibility issue was identified and that an EDD representative would call to retrieve information from me.

Yesterday they called and told me that the employer stated I was fired for destruction of company's properties, as I caused $9000 of damages to a vehicle by breaking the sliding door and that they have proof and my signature stating that this incident happened, and that I had 48 hours to fax them a proof that stated otherwise.

FIY, this accident did happen indeed, but I only remembered it when the EDD representative told me, so I was shocked because I never thought this was used as the reason of my dismissal. All the company's vehicles were poorly maintained, they explicitedly instructed us not to accuse any damages into the Amazon Flex app but instead informing them about any issues (so Amazon wouldn't groud the vehicle and the DSP would be the one to decide the roadworhiness of the vehicles). The van I was using during the incident already had issues with the sliding door (sometimes it didn't shut properly, sometimes it didn't open) and I informed the company about it but they just ignored it. At some point of the route, the sliding door opened while I was accelerating and went off the railing. It was a visibly simple fix, with a screwdriver I could probably put it back on track, and so I told the DSP if they could bring a toolbox, but they told me to try to secure the door in position and drive back to the lot with my blinkers on. At the lot I was told I wasn't supposed to be driving with the door open, I responded that I didn't open it, it opened by itself, but they just ignored it and told me to sign a report of incident and that they'd investigate by the images (all vehicles are equipped with cameras).

They never brought up this event afterwards, and I worked for about another month after this. Remember, there were maaaaany things going on at this job, so this incident wasn't an outlier among reliability issues, piss bottles, drivers having accidents or getting tickets, the company decreasing our shift from 12h to 10h accusing us of milking the hours but not reducing the packages quota, and an absolutely insane empoyee turnover (in less than 2 months most of the colleagues that got hired with me weren't there anymore).

I feel like I was thrown under the bus for probably an insurance claim, and now I'm being accused of fraud and don't really have a proof as I didn't record the phone calls or the last conversations. I have no idea of what to do, although I'm in a new job right now I definitely can't afford to pay back the unimployment benefits plus the fraud 30% fine, and even if I did it would still infuriate me to be framed unfairly.

What should I do?
