Girlfriend Is Cheating On Me; What Can I Do About The Apartment?
Just found out my girlfriend of 6 years has been cheating on me with several other guys. She doesn’t know I know.
Currently, I live in a 2-bedroom with just me and her. Both she and I are on the lease with my father as co-signer. Location: Kentucky.
She has not paid rent for the last 7 months and has been jobless for 6. She can’t afford to live here. I have record of all payments for rent and she would not be able to prove income whatsoever. Any money she has made has went to cocaine.
I haven’t said or done anything yet; I’m waiting to talk to the landlord. Do you think I can have her removed from the lease or perhaps request a different apartment for the remainder (4 months)? I don’t want to start shit, I just want her gone. She will either have to move in with one of her boyfriends or back in with her parents on the other side of the state.
What options may I have, legally?
UPDATE: Landlord is very understanding and is fully willing to have her removed from the lease so long as she agrees; I’ve offered her financial absolution in exchange for her moving out entirely. Thanks everyone
